A 21 Year Old Self-Made Millionaire – Tanya Mittal

No more than 14 percent of business establishments in India are run by female entrepreneurs, according to the Sixth Economic Census by the National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO). There are 58.5 million businesses in India, of which 8.05 million are managed by women, employing over 13.48 million people. These enterprises range from corner shops to venture-funded startups.

Studies on women entrepreneurship have witnessed a rapid growth over the past 30 years. Women entrepreneurs’ reveals that entrepreneurship is not a gendered phenomenon and entrepreneurial activities come from within.

With a lot of passion and dedication, we have a story today of Tanya Mittal founder of HandMadeLove. She is incredible and successful young and beautiful girl, who achieved great success as an entrepreneur.

Her Journey

She began her entrepreneurial journey at the age of 20 and made herself a self-made millionaire in a year with zero initial investment starting from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Tanya believes that the challenges are not struggles rather they define the right path for us. It was during my college days that made me what I am today. I never liked my college and the environment I was in and I even had a hard time in completing my architecture course as my sheets were stolen from time to time. I couldn’t trust anyone as a friend. The worse was when I started to develop severe signs of depression in the third year, being so disappointed with a normal routine, just like any other girl who sat back on their hostel bed, crammed theories, scored well, and aims at having a decent job. My idea about life was quite different, I just couldn’t be satisfied and constrained by what most people were doing in life. I always wanted more out of me and I always believed in me and doing great. I consider self as a challenge and try to be better than the previous Tanya Mittal.

Tanya is also the associate director of Bliss NGO as well, which works for the complete social welfare of the society.

I don’t plan to move out to inhabit a big town; I aspire to make my own town a metropolitan. And I believe in backing my words with actions. Tanya’s biggest motivation is the 2 kids that she adopted and is helping them in their education, clothes and everything that a kid expects from his/her family. She is not only helping these 2 kids but she is also connected to NGO’s and helping them by any means.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

My piece of advice would be don’t just run after money , try to do something good with your life try to bring out the best in you . Since money is a part of our life , not our life.

Tanya says, believing in your dreams, setting your happiness as the top priority in your life can make any person an achiever. I never let tears shed off my eyes, as to me my smile is precious. I never feel tired, even after working 18 hours a day, as this is something that garners me reasons to felicitate and stay happy.
